The Cancun International Airport (CUN) has been expanding, as it has recently opened Terminal 3. It is an important airport for the greater Yucatan Peninsula region along with the city of Cancun. Amenities at the Cancun International Airport include duty-free shops, lockers, lost and found, currency exchange, restaurants, cafes, Wi-Fi and other shops.

Airlines That Fly Into Cancun

The Cancun International Airport (CUN) is accessible to and from almost every major city in the world. It is the second busiest airport in Mexico, and this is definitely felt by the high volume of passenger traffic and long lines. Most of the international flights come in from the United States, although there is a high volume of airplanes that go from many cities in Canada to Cancun, as there are many Canadian tourists in Mexico. This airport is a hub for Mexicana Airlines. Some other airlines at the Cancun International Airport include Air Canada, Air Transat, CanJet, Delta, Thomson Airways and West Jet.

  • There are no taxis available to flag down from the airport. They are allowed to drive people back, but not pick them up. Taxis for pick-up are available by reservation only. Passengers who do not have prior arrangements must purchase transportation services from the concession stand at the airport.
