Charter Flights to Costa Rica

Charter flights to Costa Rica from international and domestic locations can be arranged in advance. Many of the domestic charter flights can be arranged a few days before they take place. Many of these charter flights operate on schedule, but others by private arrangement. The vast majority of them operate to and from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose.

International Charter Flights

In terms of getting an international charter flight to Costa Rica, there are a few options. Aeromexico Connect offers a flight from Mexico City to San Jose, as does Jetairfly from Brussels. TACA, operated by Lacsa, does scheduled charter flights from Cancun, Medellin, San Andreas Island and San Juan to San Jose, Costa Rica. Natureair offers a charter flight to Bocas del Toro in Panama, and sometimes other places around Central America.

Domestic Charter Flights

In terms of domestic charter flights in Costa Rica, there are two airlines that offer this service, Sansa and Natureair. Sansa offers charter flights from San Jose to many domestic destinations, like Nosara, Coto 47, Liberia, Limon, Palma Sur, Quepos, Tamarindo and others. They operate with two Cessna Grand Caravan 208B aircrafts. Natureair has different schedules during high season and low season; some of their flights operate daily, and others on certain days of the week. Their aircraft consists of Executive King Airs and De-Haviland Dash 6 Twin Otters. Natureair offers charter flights within Costa Rica to Barra Colorado, Drake Bay, La Fortuna, Golfito, Liberia, Limon, Quepos, Tamarindo, Tambor and others. These domestic charter flights are oftentimes preferable over driving. Even though it is a small country, many destinations in Costa Rica take a while to get to, because the roads are rugged and go through mountainous terrain.
