The pottered plant gift may have been well received if you were a foreigner giving it. The nice gesture is understood, but we don’t actually do that. True about the liquor (any kind), though. Maybe you could add we love dancing, and have many kinds of rhythms and foods. Well, there are many other things you could add, but what you said in general is accurate 🙂
