The Barcelona International Airport (BCN) has opened a new terminal, Terminal 1, in 2009, which includes 168 check-in counters, 50 jet ways and 15 baggage carousels. Amenities at this airport include shops, duty-free stores, newsstands, cafes, bars, restaurants, banking services, meeting rooms, information services, handicap services and child play areas.

The Barcelona International Airport (BCN) is very busy with domestic services, as well as other services to destinations throughout Europe and North Africa. There are minor flights to North America, Latin America and Southeast Asia. It is a main hub for Spanair and Vueling.
