Travelers looking for cheap flights to Las Vegas can easily find tickets to the McCarren International Airport, which is located just south of the city. This airport has four runways and two public passenger terminals, numbered 1 and 2. Terminal 1 takes the majority of flights in its four concourses and 96 gates; Terminal 2 handles the international flights and has 8 gates.

Another option is to fly into theNorth Las Vegas Airport (VGT). It is the primary airport in the Las Vegas area for general aviation and scenic tours, but there is some regional airline service.

McCarren International Airport (LAS) Information

There are some projects under development at the McCarren International Airport (LAS). They are building a new terminal, Terminal 3, and doing some reconstruction on Terminal 1. There are over one thousand slot machines in this airport, as well as an aviation museum. Other amenities at LAS include public art, ATMs, a gym, mail boxes, free Wi-Fi, lockers, luggage carts, currency exchange and information booths.

The McCarren International Airport (LAS) is very busy, ranking as 15th busiest in the world in terms of passenger traffic. There is limited space for further expansion, so a new airport, the Ivanpah Valley Airport, is set to be ready by 2017. There are domestic flights from McCarren to dozens of major domestic locations, as well as a handful of international flights. LAS is a focus city for Allegiant Air, Southwest and WestJet. Other major airlines that service this airport include US Airways, United, Delta and American.
