Punta is expensive, snooty and waaay too crowded during the summer to even appeal to the typical “expat”. Do yourself a favor, visit places OTHER than Punta Del Este while in Uruguay, and there are plenty. Piriapolis, Colonia, Paysandu,Punta Del Diablo, Cabo Polonia, Salto, and MORE!!
