Moving to Cyprus
The Republic of Cyprus is a Eurasian island country that is located in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is a highly developed country that is an EU member. It is a UNESCO world heritage site that has known human activity since the 10th century BCE. Its official languages are Greek and Turkish. It is 77% Greek, 18% Turkish, and 5% other in demography. Its currency is the Euro, and it is a Presidential Republic. Its capital and largest city is Nicosia. Over a third of the island is occupied by Turkish troops, which is recognized by Turkey as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Work Permit
To apply for a work permit in Cyprus, you have to have a job lined up. Your employer is the one who applies for your permit, but you must provide them with the necessary documents. You must possess specific skills, as jobs for foreigners are supposed to be reserved for those who can fill jobs that Cypriots cannot.
The following documents are necessary:
- Application on forms M.58 and M.64
- Copy of your valid passport
- Criminal background check
- Medical certificate
- Bank letter of guarantee of funds for repatriation
- Work contract, stamped by the Department of Labor of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance

Student Visa
All non-EU nationals are required to obtain a student permit to study in Cyprus. Student permits are issued by the Migration Department in Cyprus, and from embassies and consulates abroad.
To apply through an embassy or consulate, you are required to submit the following:
- Application form
- Application fees
- Four passport photos
- Copies of your academic qualifications
- If necessary, proof of knowledge of English
- Photocopy of passport
You will then be interviewed at one of these offices before you are issued a visa. You must present:
- Academic qualifications
- Passport
- Recent police records
- Proof of funds

Moving Pets
In order to move your pet into Cyprus, you must have it either tattooed or microchipped for identification. Your pet is required to be vaccinated against rabies. You must present a valid health certificate in English or in Greek.
