Distance to the city: 13 miles/21 kilometers

Bus to city

  • Fare: $2 by local bus/$5 by express bus.
  • The bus is operated by the SamTrans company, and there are three docks to catch it.

Taxi to city

  • Fare: $30-40, depending on distance.
  • Taxis are situated outside of the arrival area for each terminal, on the lower levels.

Train to city

  • Fare: $7.60-$8.10, depending on how far you are going in San Francisco. It costs more if you are heading further into the Bay Area.
  • The train is operated byBay Area Rapid Transit (BART). The airport has the last stop on the Yellow Line, which will then go to all of the San Francisco stops. The BART station is located on level 3 of the international terminal, near Parking Garage G.

  • There are also many shuttle buses that go from the SFO airport to the city. Their rates usually start at $15 per person.

The car rental companies are stationed at the fourth floor of SFO. People can reach them through the Airtrain Blue Line.
