Are you awfully stressed when you put your beloved furry friend in the cargo compartment when traveling ? Well you can now relax because starting in July, your pet will be able to travel with a new airline company offering pets-only trips.

Pet Airways” first flight will take off on July 14th from Teterboro, a small airport located a few miles away from New-York. The inaugural flight will be New York-Washington-Chicago-Denver-Los Angeles. Alysa and Dan Binder co-founded the company in 2005 after terrible trips with their own dog Zoe. The objective is to offer a safe and comfy solution to pets travels.

They will start with a Beechcraft 1900 that will take on board 50 dogs and cats flying in the main cabin, two pilotes and a pet attendant trained to take care of all your pet’s needs. You will even be able to follow the flight on the Internet. Fees start at $149, not a lot more than a regular cargo compartment trip.

According to the Animal Protection Society, around 2 millions dogs and cats travel by plane every year in USA and there are more than 5000 incidents. Let’s hope this company will offer international long distance flights very soon.
