10 Best Places to Live for Escaping World Conflict

Where would you be the safest if World War 3 broke out tomorrow? Perhaps it’s a grim subject, but safety and distance from world conflict can be a motivating factor in your choice to expatriate. At the very least, conflict around the world can weigh heavy on the soul, and it’s nice to know there are some places still left in the world where you might be left in peace. Thus, we’ve assembled a list of the 10 best places to live if you want to escape world conflict.

10. Switzerland

switzerland

Switzerland’s long history of neutrality and its tucked away location among the valleys of the Alps still make it a safe bet, even despite having a high number of bordering nations. It helps that neighboring Austria is also considered a neutral nation.

9. Costa Rica

Costa Rica

Costa Rica has a stable democracy, a disbanded military and a national policy of neutrality. It also ranks highly on the Global Peace Index, Happy Planet Index, and Life Satisfaction Index. Although it sits in the middle of a tumultuous region, there are far worse places to sit in peace as the world goes down in flames all around.

8. Papua New Guinea

papua

There are regions of Papua New Guinea that are still being discovered for the first time. The canopy covered, mountainous nation contains some of the most isolated places in the world. Tuck yourself away in a nook here and it may be one of the few places left where you can completely insulate yourself from the outside world.

7. Canada

Canada

Canada is the second largest nation in the world, yet it only shares a land border with one other country– the U.S.A.– and it is a peaceful border. That means there is a great expanse to escape to, if need be. Furthermore, Canada has few world enemies, ranks consistently high on the Global Peace Index, and is relatively homogeneous.

6. Seychelles

Seychelles

Aside from being safely isolated from the rest of the world in the middle of the Indian Ocean, this beautiful island nation is a great place to forget about your worries. Isolation is the key here. And conflict is as transparent as the water.

5. Finland

finland

Finland has a long history of desiring to stay out of international conflicts, is recognized as neutral and always ranks in the top 10 of the Global Peace Index. It’s northerly location also typically means the remote areas of this country are a perfect place to disappear.

4. Tuvalu

Tuvalu

Isolated in the middle of Micronesia, Tuvalu is among the safest and most remote places in the world. It is the third least populated country on Earth, and the forth smallest. There are only a few places more distant from the world’s strife than Tuvalu.

3. Iceland

iceland

Iceland, of course, has no borders, has remote locations, is stable as a country and has virtually no world enemies. Its people are happy and the nation always ranks highly on the Global Peace Index. If world conflict erupts, Iceland is one of the few stable nations in the world unlikely to get caught up in the middle.

2. Bhutan

Bhutan

Landlocked among the Himalaya mountains, Bhutan is one of the most isolated nations in the world. It also showcases one of the most stable balances in the world between moderization and retention of ancient culture. Its religious population believes in peaceful resolution to all conflict, and although it sits in a troubled region, it remains protected by its geography.

1. New Zealand

New Zealand

New Zealand might be the most isolated and expansive fully developed nation in the world. It shares no borders, sits relatively distant from any other nation, has no real national enemies, has a safe democracy and a diverse landscape with many remote places to hide away within. Furthermore, it ranked #1 on the Global Peace Index in 2009.

  1. Yeah..but..90% of the world’s poisonous snakes are in New Zealand…runawaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Folks, I think they are trying to give us locations where we could hide from global conflict like war. Hiding out won’t for most nor would some isolated mosquito coast. I say move to the backwoods of Michigan or Montana..with all those NRA types..and paramilitary folks. SAFE. Safe. Safe.

    :-0)

  2. @Angelina: I thought the happiest place on earth was Tijuana… or Disneyland…

By the way, I would love to live in Iceland with Björk and all the Sigur Ross guys as neighbours but… with their economy problems….

Maybe the safest place to live on earth is in the realm of dreams…

  3. PAMELA39 you are a DOOSH!!!!
There is absolutely no snakes in New Zealand bhahaha DUMBASS!!!

  4. I’m Australian – so I usually wouldn’t like New Zealanders, but I respect them for the ranking they’ve achieved in relation to peace. 🙂

  5. “TUVALU is SINKING because f GLOBAL WARMING
ex Tuvalu people are already asking for refuges”… might be one of the most ridiculous, uneducated statements I have ever heard. Global Warming is “sinking” islands. Wow. Leila, your mind has been hijacked by socialist tree huggers.

  6. @Pamela39

Idiot. You’re thinking of Australia, a neighbouring country.

    Check your facts.

  7. I live in NZ. Its beautiful, there are no poisonous snakes here FYI, our next door neighbours OZ ave all the wild animals, but NZ is really quiet and peaceful. The only potential spider that’s poisonous yet not deadly is white tail spider which has indeed migrated from OZ.

  8. I live in NZ, originally from the UK, its wonderful, maybe a little boring now and then, but I think we have just got used to the hassle free life, a million times better than europe and the states, on par with aussie

  9. I have a house in New Zealand, my father is from there and I spent my childhood there….There are NO snakes in the country AT ALL. That is false to think that 90% of the worlds most poisonous snakes live there. It is a gorgeous, beautiful, peaceful country. I am so happy to say that I am Kiwi! Best country in the world!!

  10. @Colatowntigers;
Hilarious, you believe Tuvalu is not safe because global warming is causing it to “sink”. Obviously you are a conservative “your mind has been hijacked by socialist tree huggers.” Global warming? Really? FYI Islands are not “sinking” they have not lost altitude. They may be shrinking because they are being inundated by sea water that is rising because of global warming.

  11. Oops,
I realized my mistake about two seconds after posting. Never mind.

  12. From the landscapes of “Lord of the Rings”, NZ looks incredible, but don’t earthquakes disqualify it as safe?? I have seen places for sale in Costa Rica for sale on Ebay that make it seem like a better bet!!

  13. Guys, what about Norway? Like wtf! It’s the best country in the world to live in!

  14. nz is a peaceful country with no snakes but a tonne of live grenades and landminds. there are approx 0 decent looking girls and you better watch out as they tend to blow up alot. id probably swim to australia to escape the wilderbeast and hairy gorillas that grow up to 150kg. they tend to thrive around mcdonalds, kfc and burgerking and generally consist of mostly cellulite, moles, and hair

  15. This is a great list and I agree with most of the countries listed. I’m hoping in the future some destinations in SE Asia could be added to such a list.

  16. My only real question is…why is it necessary to call people names because they 1) have a different point of view; or 2) can’t get their geography straight. I wonder of those calling others idiots have never made mistakes in their lives and that is what makes them sling names with such vitrolity (new word 🙂 at people they have never met.

  17. I love that NZ is number one 😀 It makes me feel so happy to be a kiwi 😀 haha AND we accept heaps of refugees 😀

  18. @nick, really? Cos I love Australia! Been there heaps cos I have family there 🙂

  19. @MIKE, that’s not very nice… FYI there are thousands of beautiful girls in NZ, there arent any landmines or grenades… at all, and if girls blow up it’s because you’re pissing them off. And there aren’t hardly any ‘wilderbeast and hairy gorillas ‘ in NZ as you call them, and that’s actually really offensive. There are obese people almost everywhere you go, not only just NZ so that’s an unfair assumption.

Where do you come from anyway, to judge NZ like that?

  20. I’m in rwanda i like this places very but i’m asking it’s possible to visit this places thanks for this list.

  21. Excellent list. I live in Canada, and have never visited any of the other places mentioned, but they all sound wonderful. I almost moved to NZ once, but ended up staying here and going back to school. I wonder how they would rank in terms of affordability? Canada is peaceful but not cheap, at least not in the cities or anywhere near the west coast. I’d also love to see the top 10 places to live for escaping personal conflict 😉

  22. Vale do Javari, Amazon rain forest, Brazil. Even today they find uncontacted tribe’s there. The world does not know this place. Thus: a safe place.

  23. I live in New zealand and although it is nice its boring here. and moari people make problems.. lol

  24. Pamela39 says we have 90% of the worlds poisonous snakes…I am happy to tell you all that we have none at all.We do not have snakes in New Zealand

  25. I think no matter where you are, internal peacefulness determines everything. External peacefulness is an additional factor to make this life a lot more happier and peace. Anyhow, good post! tenkiu

  26. Did nobody think of Ireland in all this?? It has one of the lowest homicide rates in Europe for Pete’s sake! Plus friendly people and gorgeous landscape! The only bad thing is the economy!

  27. I live in a rather remote section of Arkansas Ozarks; I think I’d just as soon stay HERE!!!! We are at least 100 miles from a city of any size….no interstate nearby either. Like it!!!! Clean water, air, low crime rate, low population.

  28. There may, or may not be snakes in NZ, however there is one thing we can all agree upon…..THERE ARE SNAKES ON A PLANE!!!

As for the safest place, simple…one word…NARNIA!

May Allah Bless your Bible so that Moses can spread the word of the Lord until Jusus has someone pen the new Testament while reading the Torah to a Buddhist Monk during Ramadan just as the sizzling bacon was comin’ off the grill!

    I sincerely upon you

  29. right, i’m a new zealander and there are a few things you need to know,
    1. new zealand has no reptiles apart from tuataras and lizards[ small ]
    2. beautiful countryside, magnifcent [milford sounds are great]
    3. sheep aren’t native!!!!!!!!!!
    4. kiwis are our national bird
    5. we have great wild like and not to many big city’s
    6. N.Zders do not live in mud hutt and wear grass shirts
    7. we have tv, computers, video games, mickey d’s and decent hospitals
    every one can speak english
honestly you wouldn’t believe the stupid ideas some people in europe and america have about New Zealand

  30. “TUVALU is SINKING because f GLOBAL WARMING
ex Tuvalu people are already asking for refuges”

    U R A MORON!

  31. What about Tasmania? I have a distant cousin who married a man who has a diplomatic position there. She thinks it is a fine place. She is really grumpy and mean so she could be lying. I thought Norway would be a good safe place but then I was told their oil makes them a target for many untoward things. I would opt out for Canada being the safest place to live. Maine has to be the safest place in the USA. I don’t think any island nation is safe, and New Zealand is on the ring of fire so earthquakes are a problem.

  32. Well, thanks for the list of escaping world conflict. Now can you create a list of the 10 best places for avoiding people (the source of conflict) & nanny-state governments (the reason I am looking here). Where in the world can I move to simply be left alone?

    – Not too hot or cold
    – Ability to grow own food
    – Infrastructure unimportant (the internet is now garbage)
    – Isolation from intrusive people, religions, politics
    – Safe for when the rest blow themselves up

So does such a place exist or is it kept secret to ensure the above criteria hold?

  33. we all know there will never be world peace, and my goodness, from some of the posts on here, where its just a little list of some of the safe places to be/live, now after reading just a fee comments,…. there will never be “web peace” either lol.

ah come on, can’t we all just get along. or at least just not be so mean and negative out loud. none of us will ever agree with everything or even some of the things others say, but lets just welcome the different comments, and not lash back at them with our own negativities, etc or we become no different than they are.

God Bless everyone, Happy Living, Whom-ever, Where-ever!

  34. Those are some great places to escape war,but a Global event would make those destination isolated by water, graveyards should a giant sunami come rolling in.Canada has 36,000 lakes of fresh water, the most basic of needs. And in the event of a asteroid impact,a wave coming even 800-1000 Miles inland won’t effect those bunkering down in the Central Provinces of Canada, even Albert is shielded by the Rocky Mountains.Which is actual a great place for a Mountain Bunker.Should the World be hit with a Global Event, you can be sure that Canadians will survive,we live comfortably in one of the coldest places on earth.and our Peaceful nature ensures that the human races will go on.Let’s just remeber to always hope for the best, and expect the worse.Canada is all Nation’s under one Flag and we make it work,Peace be with you !!!

  35. Alway am happy so if i am dying also i am happuy but these placess are amazing before worlds end i want to visite once like i visited Singapore

  36. Delete Switzerland from your list. It is a black dot on this planet. Its economy is based on black money of corrupt politician, criminals, drug lords and warlords from third world. The money which should have been used for development of poor people of these countries are siphoned to Switzerland with the connivance of the bankers of this country. This country should not have any place in civil society.

  37. well, appreciate on survey, but the people if, thinking in positive way,.. from one man and a women they are all created and scented to this non bordered earth from the heaven for testing and watching for giving them the good(heaven)or bad(hell)by one only the “GOD” at there end of life ,there was no any border in this earth when the first men and his bride reached here.there generations are brothers and sisters, but when they got enemies each together and made borders and separate republics that is the important to check. if positive, world become heaven like peaceful wherever the people whole they are getting birth.

  38. I am not sure on what basis is the classification done. I am sure however that the author requires to study more on some of the countries that he has said are safe destinations.
You do not need a World War III to be haunted by the regime seemingly classified as the 2nd best destination. Bhutan is governned by a sadist monarch who derives happiness in annihilating cultural practices of the minority. To a dissenter of its cultural policies, he perpetrates ethnic cleansing. And there is an unholy nexus between the king and the government, wherein the latter gorifies the former to receive his magnanimous blessings as liscence to malgovernance. They are co-conspirators in a recently completed ethnic cleansing agenda. They are currently engaged in a disingenous act of cultural extermination of the minorities there. At least 1/6 of its people live as refugees elsewhere in the world. And all this is perpetrated in the pretext of a very novel principle: Gross National Happiness (GNH). The cultural dimension of GNH is cultural extermination of the minorities. And the PM preaches to the audience in the west that even stray dogs smile in Bhutan. And the ignorant spectators oblivious to the complexes of Bhutan like the author of this classification (categorizing Bhutan as a Safe destination to live), sit spell bound and preach further the statist propaganda.
Please research more on Bhutan before making premature conclusions

  39. @Eamonn rascist much?

I’m maori, and more often than not its us who are bullied and the pakehas that cause trouble rather than us. All the druggies at my school are pakeha.

  40. @ NZ, for someone criticising another person for racism you should really look at the inaccuracies of your own comment, firstly NZ is one of the safest places in the world, we are extremely fortunate to be spared the conflict many other countries face and live in such a beautiful country wealthy in any ways. Bullying and racism are worldwide issues but no more dominant in NZ than in any other nation. Secondly if you look at national crime, bullying and drug use statistics I dare say you will find they tell a different story, from someone who went to a large public school in NZ I have to say the majority of intimidation, threatening behavior and trouble making as you call it is often directed at white people, myself having been subjected to numerous traumatic examples of this, despite having many friends of all nationalities (one of the benefits of living in such a multicultural country). That’s not to say it doesn’t swing the other way of course but to claim that maori are bullied by pakeha people in most cases follows on with the worldwide problem faced in many countries of “blame white people for all our problems”. A little more of an unbiased statement will have you taken more seriously in the future.

  41. I have a business in Europe and I do not have to go to office I have 5 sales reps and they do all work for me. All I have to do is just to check out the sales and create new marketing strategies and I do this through the net. And I m making around 15,000 USD/monthly net. Now I m looking for a country where I can live like a king. I stayed long time in USA and Canada. And I do not prefer European countries as well. Maybe costa rica would fit me perfect. Or maybe Thailand. Any suggestions ?

  42. Alex, my parents have been to Costa Rica four times, they love that place so much they want to retire there, not to mention the friendly people and the cheap cost of living. But you should know that you have to make an effort, the people will open up to you if you try to speak their language, literally.

  43. HAHA This is pretty great. I’ve always been interested in escaping some sort of catastrophe.

    Pretty interesting read. Thanks! 🙂

  44. As someone who grew up in Papua New Guinea – trust me, you don’t want to live there if you want peace and quiet. First off- it was a huge battlefield in World War II. So much for that. Second, the people there are always at war with each other, the tribal warfare never stops. About the time it cools down, they have another election or rugby game, and it starts up all over again. Lastly – the crime rate and sexual assault rate in particular are pretty damn high.

Sorry – you’re going to have to scratch that one off the list.

  45. DO NOT COME TO COSTA RICA!!!!!! unless you are looking for a few weeks at the beach, this place is TERRIBLE to leave in. High living cost (same as US or EU) but very low quality (of anything you can imagine) in exchange. High crime rate (not as bad as the rest of Central America) but for sure high enough to disrupt your daily life (people get killed over a cellphone)… You will be ripped off and highly frustrated most of your stay. Literacy rate is high, but logical thinking level is way low, making everything around you incompetent. Bureaucracy is the real form of government. If you come, make sure you get a 4-wheel drive you like, since infrastructure is super-lousy, not to mention the fact that you will spend enormous amount of time in it, since traffic is crazy-ridiculous and walking is not safe. be also prepared for 9-months of rain per year.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my country but I am embarrassed when people come expecting paradise. If you want to know more about it, let me know. Pura vida. ?

  46. I just escaped Canada to live in Europe! I guess it depends on what escape means to you. I want to live in a place that things happen, a young vibe, a strong future…hope to buy a B&B in South France and live a life based on time currency. With the cost of living so terrible high in Vancouver Canada, we merely live to work, not work to live!!
I found your article excellent, and it stirred a lot of people into action! Love love love that!

  47. @ Arika Trejos, it is refreshing to hear someone tell the Truth about their own country.Glad that you show the realities to those that don’t know and a shame others cannot show the same in a Dignified manner.

  48. to me if I moved to any of these places to escape the hassles of the city and daily life I would live indigeounous and away from any cities live off the land like my ancestors did like I was taught to do.

  49. Great article – simply for its ability to provoke discussion on the definition and perception of safe. May we never have to make a decision like where to go in the face of WW 3

  50. @Arik Trejos: I have met one coloured person , a nun who was so excited about the prospect of going to Costa Rica, but yet when she came back she was not happy, she even said she had seen racism against her even if she was a missionary black nun. SAd

  51. Better live within the disaster rather than die fear of escaping!

Isn’t it too selfish to imagine a world in war and then don’t belong to the world?

The best place to escape from world war III is to prevent it.

I belong to Afghanistan and have lived whole my life in an in-conflict country. There is no safer place than to live with hope and no insecure place than living hopelessly.

  52. after living in the middle east all my life, i decided i want to move to a cooler place. a place where i can live forever. when i saw the article i was happy that finally i can choose. but seeing the comments, i am discouraged. all i wanted was a moderate climate, friendly people, slower pace of life… everyday when i wake up in the morning i wanted to feel alive, look forward to getting out of the house… doesnt look like its possible anywhere…

  53. You want to live in peace? It’s all in the mind. I moved to the Philippines. Same old, just different stuff! Peace must be within, for it surely isn’t anywhere on this planet! LOL.

  54. Iceland…sigh…my favorite place on Earth. But peace is so relative. Some of these countries have issues with immigration, some economic, and some internal.

Agree with Rod that peace comes from within, not changing country borders.

  55. Great to see New Zealand number one! fuck knows where that picture was taking tho, Ive been here 27 years and never seen anything that amazing. In saying that the south island kicks a lot of ass in the pretty picture department.

  56. Wahoo, go NZ. MacKenzie country would be where I’d go. Or Fiordland. No one for miles in either of those places. Come check it out people – NZ really is the best place on earth.

  57. Interesting choices but may not agree with them all. Living out in a country that suffers with an Elite society as they like to call it where in reality its brutal regime you can see the shine comes off some of these places rather rapidly. But like the location I am in at the moment its perfectly fine if your not a local!

  58. Nick,

Your language is vulgar and if youth were looking for a comment, this certainly is not needed nor appropriate.

Peace is within the mind; however the elements around one affect the mind. One has to decide what they need and can live with, adjust and make the best of all.

The best thing one can do is seek strength and wisdom through our Lord and then live in faith.

  59. I have traveled to Switzerland and fell in love with the Country and people. The problem is if you are not rich you can not live there. I have never felt more safe any where else in the world. I spent 3 months there and traveled to 6 different Countries and my heart belongs to Switzerland. Any ideas how I could live there. I am on disability in the US and dream of living in Switzerland. I can still collect my benifits and medical so no problem there. I am desperate to find information that is valid please reply if you know someone from there or a professional that could help me get there.

  60. Iceland should not be on this list..poor country…they have no money so things are folling apart….
Kin about switzerland the only way to go and stay you must marry a swiss…otherwise its very, very hard to get a visa to stay.Refuges get a 1year stay…its will not be easy for you….good luck

  61. Costa Rica is my choice. If anyone knows how to get there and get a job, let me know. I am selling my house and wish to go there as soon as possible!!

  62. Just my two cents worth — Bali (Indonesia) is a great place. Lovely climate, lovely people who value harmony and peace and a vibrant economy. There are drawbacks, such as Indo bureaucracy, crowded roads — but once these obstacles are dealt with, a high quality of life can be had for very little money.
    Cheers

  63. Thanks for this page…. there is always WW3 in my surrounding but the best place to live in is in the “Internet”.

I agree though with the point that piece is something that you can find within yourself and not defined by borders.

  64. Well, I’m from New Zealand, and grew up in Papua New Guinea. I wouldn’t recommend either place. PNG is hugely dangerous (especially if you’re female – rape bait).

NZ is also really dangerous for women (rape, domestic violence) , old people (beaten to death in alleyways so 14 year olds can go joyriding in their car), kids (bashed to death at 6 weeks old when there are aunties, uncles, grandparents etc. all in the house doing nothing to protect them – and mum out boozing with her mates – or put into clothes-driers for a laugh!).

I have now lived overseas for years, and will never go back to NZ to live. Everywhere else I’ve lived, I can go out walking at night alone without being raped or killed. My kids can go running off down the street for hours and I know they’ll come back in one piece, regardless of the colour of T-shirt they are wearing.

PS – All the above examples are true. Just read the NZ newspapers online and you’ll be saddened by what happens in my beautiful country.
Beautiful…but not a peaceful place at all.

  65. N.z is a very boring place and it’s esp.dangerous for asians bcos of those trouble makers pacific island jerks.

  66. While countries are artificial and man-made, certain cultures have stood the test of time.

My country – India, is unsafe by many standards. However, if you were to look at select places in India where culturally rich people have dwelled since centuries, you may find what you’re looking for. The Hindu-Buddhist dominated regions of the Himalayas form the majority of such places. Pockets of Nepal and Bhutan are way safer than most places on earth.

In my opinion, safety is largely attributed to what’s internal/domestic than what is influenced by an external/foreign state. The slow pace of life, non-existent religious conflicts and an ever-pleasant climate… amongst the many things that draw me towards the Himalayas.

  67. Canada homogeneous? Huh? What do you mean by this?
And how can you generalize about a country as vast as Canada? Twillingate in Newfoundland is not like Sydney in Nova Scotia, which is unlike Quebec City, which is nothing like Toronto, or Saskatoon or Vancouver. Or Yellowknife or Iqaluit. What a meaningless ranking.

  68. Arik is it? Costa Rica is not as bad as you are making it out to be. Trust me, I was born there, and raised in the US, I visit 3-4 times a year as a large portion of my extended family still lives there, including my parents who retired and moved back. Costa Rica has a lot to offer, beaches, volcanoes, rain forests. As for the economy, if you study and get ahead you can make a great living, most of my family members are engineers, doctors, or even farmers and they live a very good life. Yes the infrastructure is bad in some places not all, ever been to NY City streets that are in constant construction? Crime, hello, we live in the world, crime is everywhere… you have to be smart when in a foreign country, don’t stand out, don’t show off, don’t be a hero. The country is worth visiting, living? Sure, but expect to pay a slightly lower price than in the US, you need money to live nice anywhere you go… and as for the people opening up to you only if you speak their language… Miss M I recommend you shut the hell up before you make any more erroneous and idiotic comments, Costa Rica has one of the highest literacy in the world, are the inventors of the science Biodiversity and all schools teach both French and English. Please do your research before you blab something you have no concrete knowledge about.

  69. The photo of New Zealand is taken on the tongariro crossing near mount ruapehu. I cant believe you have lived her 27 years and didnt no that

  70. What about Ecuador? Suppose to be cheap cost of living, good medical care and beautiful. I read a lot about where to go in the world to live cheap, with good medical care and peaceful. Anybody know where that really is or exists? Thanks.

  71. Costa Rica, Pura Vida! We loved it. I was there for a week this summer with my husband and two friends. We couldn’t get enough of the beauty and the sites. The people were fantastic, warm and hospitable; I never had any problems even though I speak very little Spanish. Someone was always happy to help with directions, recommendations, especially at tourist destinations. Yes we did notice some of the roads closest to the beach were eroded but they do repairs every year after the rainy season I understand. The infra-structure is changing constantly, new international airport, big beautiful hospital, resorts, etc… Depending on the part of Costa Rica, some areas have more rain fall than others, we were in Guanacaste, Playa Hermosa area where we experienced small brief afternoon showers much like Florida. I believe they get around 90 inches annually, compared to living in a terrible drought area, I welcome rain and the beautiful tropical rain forest experience. I plan to go back with my family soon maybe move there, work then retire there.

  72. Oh my…I have been in the travel industry since 1982. There are many places to be considered a good escape from conflict. This person has found a few of his own. No need for SOME of you to get bent out of shape. Our lives are based on experiences, some good, some bad. What one may find as a great escape, may not be anothers favorite. These sights are for us to enjoy, not tear apart!

  73. These all look like great places to visit but i’m not sure about escaping a nuclear war. If/when WWIII happens, I assume there will be so much nuclear fall out there won’t be anyplace that is safe. You may be able to avoid being killed by a bullet though:) Currently Iceland is #1 on the Global Peace Index so maybe this would be a good place to live before a disaster.

  74. @ bsomero would you be open to contact, I would like some surious credible advice as this is a near future strong consideration.

  75. MY EXPERIENCE OF 30 YEARS: dwell in the land of the devil: SOUTH AMERICA … ALSO I KNOW WHAT IS LIVING IN THE FIRST GROUND OF THE DEVIL AND HIS SECRET HISTORY OF THE USA crap.

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN LIVING IN EUROPE, BUT IT MUST FIND WHAT COUNTRY IS MORE HEALTHY.

  76. You forgot Sweden! Sweden’s long history of neutrality as well as Switzerland! Most of the pacific countries where part of WWII!

  77. More anti-Australian propaganda. Fuck, we have boatloads of refugees fleeing wore-torn and fascist countries from Africa, the sub-continent, and Asia, crossing thousands of miles of ocean to reach our shores… Yeah, I’d say folks are voting with their feet here. Nowhere in Europe is safe. Bhutan is governned by a sadist monarch who derives happiness in annihilating cultural practices of the minority. Costa Rica, Seychelles, and Tuvalu are all sinking. PNG is plagued by disease and poor social infrastructure. And as for NZ… well it’s full of New Zealanders, earthquakes, oil slicks, and they can’t play rugby.
